  • Scarlett Johansson hosted the finale of SNL season 50 on May 17.
  • She wore a black vest and completely sheer skirt for the opening monologue.
  • During her monologue, she and the cast sang a "Piano Man" parody.

Scarlett Johansson hosted the finale of SNL's 50th season last night—and she wore one of the season's trendiest outfit formulas while she was at it. Stepping out on stage for the opening monologue, Johansson wore a black vest along with a completely sheer maxi skirt with a thigh-high slit that revealed her sparkly underwear and bare legs below. She swept her hair back on a slick bun and rocked a smokey eye make up look. She accessorized with silver jewelry.

Last night's episode makes Johansson the woman who has hosted SNL the most times in the show's history—she has taken on the hosting role a total of seven times and appeared in countless other episodes for one-off sketches.

During last night's opening monologue, Johansson mentioned that she first hosted the show when she was 21 years old, before joking, "It's crazy to be back here, what, like three years later. Time really flies." She then added, "As many times as I've stood on this stage it never stops feeling special." She then launched into a parody of Billy Joel's "Piano Man" as the cast joined her on stage.

Also during the episode, Johansson appeared in a sketch titled "Victorian Ladies at Lunch" about the bizarre delicacies of the Victorian era, which saw everyone, including Johansson, breaking character and cracking up.

Johansson has been in a relationship with comedian Colin Jost since 2017 after the pair met during one of her SNL appearances. During a recent episode, Jost told a shockingly dirty joke about Johansson during a "joke swap" with Michael Che. Che's joke, which Jost had to read, was about Costco's removal of “the roast beef sandwich from its menu." Jost added, “But I ain’t trippin’, I’ve been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the kid."

“It was so vulgar,” Johansson told us at InStyle. “I just can't believe that they went there. I was like—it was so gross. It was really gross. And, like, old-school gross.”

Johansson was a good sport about the joke and, last night, Jost had his revenge, giving Che a joke swap of his own. “Last time we did joke swaps, I made Colin do some tasteless jokes, comparing your vagina to Costco roast beef,” Che said, before adding, “The fact is I was just lashing out because I’m jealous. "I’ve never even seen a human vagina. And notice I said ‘human,’ because I once spent the summer on a farm.”
